j12601 (1149), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Nov 7, 2009 On tap for growler fills at Half-Time. Pours a sort of candy yellow with a thin white head. Light citrus, but very faint, and really empty. A little bit sweet, but mostly just bitter grains, a touch acrid. Cigarette butts, paper, and cardboard. Better than most macros, but still not something I’d generally drink. Probably a decent enough lawnmower or campfire and hotdog beer though I’d imagine. zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Aug 20, 2009 (bottle - 500 ml swingtop) Clear gold color with lots of carbonation but surprisingly little head. Aroma is hay and dry grass mixed with some light hops and a touch of sweetness. Some apple notes as well. Flavor is dry and sweet at the beginning with a very mild and stale hop backbone. Lots of sweetness permeates the body at the finish but leaves a dry and bitter aftertaste. mcdav2154 (289), Germany Aug 17, 2009 Kind of a darker clear golden body with a thick 3 finger head. Good lacing. Smell is average of hay, hops, and light malt. Taste is a bit sweet at first but a solid hop ending that balances it well. High carbonation and an earthy feel to it. drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Aug 4, 2009 Not bad. Little sweeter and maltier than most pils. Gives it a little outside the box character, but on the other hand, maybe not really in the right direction. Poured from the little swing top bottle that foamed over when opened with a medium white head and a tiny bit of lace. Color is a light to medium amber. Aroma is grainy, malty, hint of hop, and honey sweet. Flavor is the same but more intense. Body is decent. Interestingly, bitterness comes out more in the finish. mkel07 (494), Brisbane, Australia Jun 30, 2009 500ml bottle. Soft white foam head that sat atop a golden amber coloured medium bodied beer with a good balance of carbonation. Aroma was average and nothing really distinctive. mild and pleasant flavour. mephisto (1144), Taiwan May 19, 2009 pours copper orange with thin beige head, the aroma is toffee and the flavor is sweet caramel. hoplover406 (204), Crofton, Maryland, USA Apr 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours hazy dark golden/yellow. Earthy hops, biscuity malt. Low carbo, slightly slick. Taste is very good. Good Pils. CharlesDarwin (1822), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Mar 22, 2009 12oz Bottle purchased from Hi-Times. Pours a coppered gold, with a light haze and a frothy white head. Cracker-like pilsener malt character, heading towards oldness. Tinted with slightly metallic bitter hops. Flavor is wet, rusty, and and oxidized. Sloppy. Grains are messy. This just isn’t snappy or desirable. The hops are dusty, the beer oxidized. Ugh.
