| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2006 The aroma is like sweet bread. There are plenty of malty grains but with nice herbal and grassy hops. The appearance is deep gold with a light orange hue. The head is medium sized and foamy. Also, the head leaves lots of lace on the glass. The flavor is like the aroma. It’s like drinking sweet herb bread. The palate is smooth but thin making it very refreshing. The finish has a bit of citrus that was not detectable in the aroma. As a German pilsner this one sets the bar. Probably the best pilsner I have had. dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 15, 2006 Quite a mild aroma, smelling of bread crusts, and perhaps a hint of fruit. Flavor is very light, but extremely clean on the palate, with some sweet honey notes, and a bit of grassy hop bitterness. Finishes slightly bitter, but well rounded. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 14, 2006 Pours mid-golden with sparkling effervescence and a creamy white head. Moldy, wet grass aroma with strong DME and a touch of milk. A few days ago, the taste struck me like a harsh, high gravity beer. Today the flavor seems slightly more subdued, but the alcohol (which is a pitiful 4.7%) still comes across strong and unrefined. Otherwise I find a balanced brew with mild components leaning towards herbal hop bitterness.
