Sampled at Volo during Cask Days 2006. Notes entered in 2008 . . . go figure! Anyway, pours a cloudy dark-orange amber w/ frothy ring of foam. Big, juicy grapefruit aroma w/ notes of tobacco & pine. Thick, sticky feel. Very big, very bitter, earthy flavour w/ solid backbone of caramel & toffee.

Nov 15, 2006 Cask Days ’06. Nose is lemon, catty, piney cedar. Very bitter w. lots of pine, orange rind. Not quite enough sweetness for me.

Oct 30, 2006 Cask, at Volo Cask Days 2006. Dark orange, a few bubbles on the surface. Huge hops and alcohol in pleasing aroma. Wow, all hops (Chinook I taker it?) in taste - mouth puckering. Alcohol hidden extremely well. Wonderful natural carbonation. Not for the whiny "it is too bitter" patrons and journalists, but for me, it was a great balanced yet over the top cask IPA. Thanks for the beer geek treat Perry!!

Oct 29, 2006 Cask. Foggy brown copper with a bubbly white head. Fruity aroma - resinous orange oil, bread, toffee/caramel, etc. Warm, very sticky and resinous, bitter orange grapefruit. Super bitter with some subtle toasted malts lingering in the distant background. Nice.

Oct 26, 2006 Cask at Volo Cask Day 2006. Pours a cloudy dark orange with a spare diminishing white head. Very nice resiny hop aroma. Flavour of fresh green hops with a long bitter finish. Alcohol’s well hidden. Medium bodied. Pretty one-dimensional but it’s oh so tasty, no complaints from this hophead!

Oct 24, 2006 Cask at Volo Cask Day 2006. Slightly hazy ruby-orange colour. Aroma of seriously pine/spruce hops - smells like a frickin’ Christmas tree! Flavour of ass-kicking hops with a faint fruitiness. Stupidly over the top, but I liked it.

Clean soft aromatic, fruity-citrus nose, good clean well worked malts.
Appearance: fine hazy amber, plenty of fizz at top.
Green citric front, quiet hoppy front (no surprise here).More and more pronounced hop character as you drink. I might call carbonated hop juice.
