Aroma of fresh toasty dark caramel malts and molten dark chocolate with a touch of light fruity esters. Body starts with good toasty sweetness and earthy dark caramel chocolate flavors before a slightly drier, biscuity toasty semi-sweet finish. A pretty nice porter. ditmier (1091), Boise, Idaho, USA

Billed with the interesting title of Imperial Dunkelweisse, this one poured a medium brown color, which is lighter than I would have expected. This is one of those beers where the chocolate dominates everything, but it was a pretty flat taste, akin to a high cocoa% chocolate. Bits of coffee and caramel flavoring as well and very smooth with mild hops. Altogether this beer just left no real lasting impressions. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn’t have anything outstanding to stand on. bb (2919), Martinez, California, USA

Aroma is very artificial with raspberry fruity sweetness. Appearance is dark brown with a low maintained tan head. Flavor is low malty with fruity sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied with no carb texture. Overall, not bad besides the artificial fruit note. SuzyGreenberg (1368), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 7, 2008 22 oz bottle, via 5000. Pours a clear brown body with a small fizzy light brown head that faded to a thin ring. A good bit of visible carbonation. The nose is nutty and lightly roasty with some roasted peanut and light hops. Some light vegetal notes. The flavor is too nutty and vegetal for a Porter, no chocolate and the roast is minimal. Some cola and a slight sour tinge on the finish. Mouthfeel is thin and lighter in body, giving it a watery texture. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, just too many off-flavors going on here for this to be enjoyable.
