| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 12, 2009 Bottle (warm – salvaged a bottle that fell off the top of the fridge and compromised its seal)… Mostly clear, deep, dirty orange ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. The toasty nose offers up lots of caramel and biscuit, but also has an earthy undertone. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. Even warm, the flavor is well-balanced as the toasted, caramely sugars are toned down by just-enough earthy bitterness. Finishes crisp, then lightly sweet. Dang, maybe all beers should be drunk at about 80° F. Bottle provided by riversideAK! JPDIPSO (4906), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 14, 2009 Dark amber color with a small lid of beige bubbles. Aromas have just a hint of malt atop a tomato sauce mix. Sweet malt with a perfumed hops background that takes over well into the linger. Balance is off. I can’t say this was a mistreated bottle. Purchased and placed in my cooler. I’m just not digging the herbal hops. BückDich (4848), McCall, Idaho, USA

The aroma is malty & spicy with notes of fruit cake & nutbread, some distant hops bounce out. The flavor has a medium body with plenty of domestic malts coming through. Complex malt body, earthy hops (chinook & special B?. The finish is lightly sweet and has a lingering bitterness & a creamy caramel based tail. Not too bad for a random in-flight beer. bhensonb (4278), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours lightly hazy dark copper with very little head. Aromas of roasted caramel and fruit hop. Medium body with sharp, but mild, carbonation. Seems a bit buttery. Otherwise a little bready, and not a lot of hop, just enough to add some fruit. Decent amber. Skyview (4050), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 2, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in Everett, Washington. Pours a clear golden amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates nearly clean with no lacing or ring. Aroma of light fruity apples, a touch of toffee and citrus zest. Taste has a chalky caramel malt flavor with a hint of roasted nuts, and citrus zest. Finish is slightly semi-sweet with a light malt aftertaste with no bitterness. Overall - an average amber ale.
