The flavor is complex with a roasted malt and hoppy bitterness. I think this is a great IPA. I am actually surprised by this one. jcr (1184), Jasper, Indiana, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 29, 2007 on tap at the brewery. hazy light amber, mild thin head. fair amount of pine aroma, hint of cherry sweetness. started sweet and i wondered, ’is this an ipa?’ but then the sharp bite rolled in and i’m happy once again. i like the prolonged experience. the literature at the brewery boasts 96 ibus. tastes closer to 90 than the 45 listed. billk (300), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 14, 2007 bottle 22 oz. hazy amber in the paper cup. nice fresh sweet floral hop aroma after drinking Pils Urquell. Flavor was somewhat sweet and malty with the hops in the background. Was worth the $3 I paid for it but rather boring. Malty, bready, a bit starchy like some wheat flour was mixed in. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 21, 2007 Enjoyed this one on draught at the brewery in Everett, WA. Pours to a hazy, burnt orange color, with a soapy, white head that fades, and a good carbonation. The nose is excellent, with lots of zesty, pine and lemon/grapefruit hop aromas. The palate is firm, with pale, and caramel malt sweetness, along with some tangy citrus hops, and light, jammy esters. This beer finishes with good pale and sweet malt, then ends with a zesty, tangy piney/grapefruit hop bitterness that lingers. Classic example of AIPA. Lots of good hop aroma, flavor, and bitterness. Delicious, drinkable AIPA. after4ever (2816), Brier, Washington, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 5, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Medium cloudy amber with gold highlights. Are they just pouring the same beer over and over and telling us it’s different? ’Cause they all look and smell the same. The flavors vary only slightly. Very mild, slightly bready nose. Only beer of the night with some legs up the side of the glass. Modest attack: medium body and carb. Corn and grass and biscuit on the mid-palate. Some grapefruit on the finish. This beer is not much.
