Bottled. Poured rather lifeless light orange with just a faint dusting sticking around. The aroma picked up juicier oranges and caramel with more citrus and peppery hop accents.. a whole lot of citrus as it warmed up. The flavor found orange meat at the core surrounded by bright citrus, grassy, and peppery bitterness.. spicy and hot on the finish. Medium-bodied with building and highly aggressive bitterness that threw off the balance a bit.. OK overall, but just barely.

In the simplest terms, if you keep packing this in your suitcase when you travel to the northwest, then I guess the beer is pretty good. I know there are other well known, cult classics from the North, but this is one of my favorites. This pours a deep amber, big frothy head. Malty notes on the smell. The most important, the taste, I like the malty taste with the citrusy hops. Very easy to drink, simple but tasty.

This is your all around tasty NW IPA. It’s not over the top, it’s not too malty or too hoppy. It’s a good IPA. Lihglty malted, lightly sweet, but nicely bittered all the way through. You can really taste the Goldings through the finish. Good stuff.

Bottle courtesy of my good friend Leems. Pours out a medium yellow with a huge white head. Aroma of pine hops with a sweet citrus and caramel balance. Flavor is cloyingly sweet followed by massive bitterness. Horribly out of balance and very disappointing to me.

Draft @ BBF - Strong yeasty nose of baby food that I lovingly call the Gerber Effect. This has very strong unbalanced bitterness and it quite unpleasant to drink. This is just noppy astringent bitterness throughout with absolutely no malt backbone to hold it up at all and the whole beer just falls apart.

12oz shorty bottle. Thick orange-brown color with a thick, foamy tan head. Earthy seawater dry hoppy aroma, quite nice. Boldly thick stuff, quite nice. Lots of solid malt depth, with a an impressive bitter backbone. This really packs in a lot of flavor for a beer of 5.25%. Toasty sweet hop syrup aftertaste. This is a great beer.

Pours and interesting copper/orange with perfect white head. Nice lacing noted after a couple of sips. Aroma is pleasant and piney with a slight sweetness. Medium body with great malt backbone and a nice hop presence. Grassy and sweet. Really up my alley for an ipa. I like them with some maltiness. Very nice finish.
