Appearance is hazy light gold with a moderate white head. Flavor is roasted malt forward, slightly sour, with grainy notes and very low hop character. Mouthfeel is dry with some resiny texture and low carb bite. Overall, not true to style and more like a low hopped pale ale. after4ever (2851), Brier, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 24, 2006 Draft at Hector’s. Pours medium yellow with a wisp of foam atop. Vacant nose, mild flavor on a medium body with light carb and the slightest bitter finish. This was merely the least of all evils on top at this place last night. And at that, it numbered least only because I’d never tried it. Maybe this beer has a tasty friend it could introduce me to. BrewDad (2393), Olympia, Washington, USA

A nice golden colored brew with a good head. This had a nice creamy flavor with a good use of malts. Liked the finish to this brew. Some would drink this with some spicy foods.

| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Jul 11, 2006 On tap at the brewery. Pale yellow with a slight haze. Mild malt complex, small hop finish. Herbaceous body. Light. Really thought about buying a small bottle for my girlfriend (a light beer drinker), but she’s a redhead.. They also offered a dry-hopped version, and that was even thinner. Slightly hazy very pale yellow. Dense white head and excellent lacing. Lively carbonation. Light slightly wheaty malt flavors and easy on the hops to match the whimpy malt flavor. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Sep 4, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Purchased at the brewery) The mermaid on the label is by far the most redeeming feature of this light bodied beer. Slightly fruity nose, tart, perhaps a touch of pale malt aroma, but generally not a pleasant nose to this beer. And it only gets worse, folks. The flavor is moderately lemony and sour, and since the beer was purchased at the brewery and consumed shortly thereafter, I won’t chalk this up to improper storage. Bright golden orange color is quite cloudy. The white head pours to half an inch in height, settling to a thin, but complete layer atop the beer. Lacing is patchy, but respectable. There’s probably something wrong with this bottle, but I’m not driving from San Diego to Everett to buy a new bottle or get my money back. If the brewery can’t sell me a good beer, I’m not going through the effort to procure a second bottle. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA
