Commercial Description:
Our creamy porter is ideal for the dark beer connoisseur. It has a lightly roasted flavor with hints of chocolate and peat. A smooth finish and superb balance make it enjoyable going down. The secret to this beer is the extra aging. Even those just getting started with darker beers enjoy this one

I’m just finishing one of these at this very moment, and I’m really enjoying it. The colour is very dark, almost black and comes with a moderate tan head. Aroma is a mild maltiness, and it tastes of roasted malt and to a lesser extent, some coffee. Not at all "thin" in mouthfeel like some other porters.

Pours a deep brown to black. Decent aroma of roasty biscuit malt. Pretty much a standard porter but good.

Tap; tones of semi sweet chocolate and roasted coffee finish; poured midnight black; decent roasted aroma which matches the balanced roasted flavor; good mouth coating malty body; a standout amongst their other brews. (#37)

Pours very dark with a large tan head. Rich and thick, this a very nice porter. Smooth, a little sweet with a chocolate flavor, an very drinkable. Thumbs up!

pours a deep black with a small khaki head, and some lacing. smell is of cocoa, coffee, and a touch of licorice. taste is watery, sour malt, dark fruit, some cocoa, some vanilla, strange aftertaste, tangy, bitter, and sourish.

head disappeared quickly. Not much nose for me, hints of smoke and burnt malt. flavor is slightly sharp and fairly dry. finishes on the safe side of bitter. smokey on the mid and sides of tongue. mild subtle fruit up front. sharpness smooths out with warming. Highly drinkable.

Bomber pours deep darkness with brown edges and thin mocha head. The aroma has an assertive smoke note (that was unexpected to me) to go along with hints of molasses, some chocolate, burnt malts and a bit of wood. Wow, these notes go nicely together. Smells of yum. The taste feels thin but brings in persistent mild smokiness with some burnt malts, roasted malts and a mild astringent malt drying sensation. Nice mildly smoky interpretation. I wasn’t expecting it to be this tasty.

Bottle courtesy of Retorp. Pours a dark brown with a one finger tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of smoke, roasted malt, and coffee. Taste is the same as aroma. Thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Decent.
