Commercial Description:
Our creamy porter is ideal for the dark beer connoisseur. It has a lightly roasted flavor with hints of chocolate and peat. A smooth finish and superb balance make it enjoyable going down. The secret to this beer is the extra aging. Even those just getting started with darker beers enjoy this one

From Bottleworks in Seattle--Poured a medium-to-dark brown-black body with a fat tan head that dissipated. Roasty and quite smoky/earthy. Subtle chocolate notes that resinate with some coffee and hops fruitiness. A very nice beer. I would recommend this one to my friends.

On tap at Scuttlebutt. Pours a dark brown color with a nice tan head on top. Aroma is dark and roasty with hops and chocolate sneaking in. The flavor of the beer blends coffee and chocolate together for a nice sweetness. Piney hops come in to help add a nice bitterness to the mix creating a very palatable beer with a smooth and balanced finish.

Enjoyed this one on draught at the brewery in Everett, WA. Pours to a deep brown to black color, with a soapy, tan head, and a soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is very nice, with aromas of piney hops, paired with dark chocolate, and mild roast. The palate is soft and full on the palate with really good dark chocolate, coffee, and roasty flavor. This beer finishes with more good coffee, then ends with a dry, roasty, bitterness that lingers. Impressive porter, that makes for a great pint, and a natural with the sea food and pub grub dishes on Scuttlebutt’s pub menu. This beer was an excellent match with coconut shrimp, and I took a 22 oz bomber of this one away with me.

22 oz. bottle - PNW IPA’s might have a good reputation, but PNW porters do not (IMO); this is a good example; jet black with white head; slight chocolate aromas with a bland and burnt aftertaste

Bottle: Dark mahogany, black color, thick tan head, light tan lacing. Nose of light alcohol and cherry covered chocolate coffee beans or the other way around. The flavor is fairly starchy with a dominant coffee and cocoa note along with the usual roasty chocolate notes. Finishes dry and a bit chalky, but overall balanced with the roast and hop notes. Nice.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Nose is roasted malt, cocoa, and mocha. Taste is heavy with roasted malt, coffee, bittersweet chocolate. A little sour in the tail with coffee and bitters. Thanks BuckDich.

MY FIRST RATING, NOT MY FIRST BEER. 12 oz bottle, poured into glass. This local brew has a really nice, calming scent to it. Smells like chocolate a bit. I was hoping for more of a head after 5 seconds but it then went into the brew. Tasting it was anti-climatic for me, sort of run of the mill. The finish did stay for a minute or so, but going down it tasted a little watered down. I still felt refreshed though. Recommendation: Buy to try, its ratings so far are fair. Eating it with spicy, light meat (chicken, fish) is a suggestion.

12 oz bottle. Purchased on a trip to Seattle. Dark, head fell fast and furious back into the brew. Smells really nice, with a sweet chocolaty aroma that has some maybe hazelnut aromas as well. Appealing nose leads to a disappointing mouth...astringent and not really all that pleasant to drink. It’s drinkable, but yeah...I’m hoping this is a bad bottle as I only brought one back with a huge mix of brews I can’t re-taste. The nose shows so much promise that this was a really big let down and one I’ll have to try again....maybe on tap on the next Seattle trip.
