riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Dec 18, 2008 WABL Party. Lots of hops in the nose. Fruity lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit. Some residual sweetness too. Perhaps a bit wheaty. CLear golden pour with a thin head. Nice and hoppy initially with citrus and flowers. Wheat malt comes in with a sweet cereal notes. Effervescent carbonation. Lingering cereal wheat malt after the hops. Very nice beer. Perhaps my only complaint is that it was thin. BrewDad (2363), Olympia, Washington, USA Dec 12, 2008 Taster – Washington Winter Beer Festival – Seattle, WA – Interesting beer with tons of malt flavors and aroma. This beer was huge and very malty. The hops came through. The fruity flavors with orange, and coriander came through very nicely. This was the most interesting beer for the day.
McMenamins and Diamond Knot also helped brewing this beer. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Nov 17, 2008 Draft at the WABL 3rd anniversary party. Alright, I’ll take what’s apparently the minority position here and sing this beer’s praises a bit. Slightly hazy bright amber. Tangy sweet apricot and mango nose. Lots of candyish white sugar happening in the nose. Creamy, thick, slushy body. Yeah, no mystery why they called this one The Paddlebreaker. Oranges, candied organges, mango, and apricot on the mid-palate. Long biscuit and resin finish.
