Taste is apple cider with nice hints rum and some barrel. The dryness of the wood and the sweetness of the apple make this really well balanced. Tasty. mcbackus (755), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

Smells of sweet apple orchards, with hints of that rum that seemingly balanced out the strong apple a bit. The flavor is pretty killer. Nice balance with the apples and rum. You definitely know its a cider, but the rum kills the acidity a bit and addssome sweet flavors to it. These two ingredients seem to be a match made in heaven. They work well together. A touch floral. Pleasing sweet soft apple flavors, with a touch of light rum. Sweet, candyish almost but in a good way, a real good way. Medium bodied. Yes! joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 25, 2008 750 ml bottle courtesy Capflu. Golden colour with a quickly diminishing white fizz. Tart and caramelized apples, honey, light alcohol, and oak aroma with some charred rum barrel notes. Initially tart and sweet apples, brown suagr, and honey yields to faint molasses and more rum, finishing with an alcoholic and woody bitterness from the rum barrel. Medium bodied, lightly fizzy and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Complex, yes, but I’m not as thrilled by the overall package as other raters. The rum barrel finish comes across like a shot of low grade rum was thrown in the bottle, as opposed to any cohesiveness added by the barrel aging. joss (3685), Garching b. München, Germany

Spicy apple cake, dark sugar, rum retronasal. Light sparkly mouthfeel. Almond aftertaste. A real treat as Hot Buttered Rumrunner - cheers Sunshine and Josh, that was a nice hangover afternoon! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Pours a deep golden color, and leaves nice legs. Strong rum barrel aromas. Retsina flavors: enormous resin. Soft effervescence. Clean palate but with lingering alcohol notes. A special cider. (Note: The Sea Cidery offers a Hot Buttered version of the Rumrunner, which is to die for on a cold day. It becomes totally cloudy, smells and tastes like apple pie a la mode with sweet cream and cinnamon flavors and is surprisingly nourishing!)
