This has a light, fruity aroma that is almost like cheap German fruit wine (it could be that they add similar flavorings). It is free of any rough beer smells. Colorful label. Gold-orange pour with hardly any head. A fairly dry cherry cough drop flavor dominates. The apricot flavor is not that pronounced - probably not many fresh apricots went into the vat. There is not much wheat flavor either. This is closer to Leinie’s Sunset Wheat than to other apricot brews I have tried. It is a pleasant, light summer beer, but nothing more than that. Get Sea Dog blueberry ale instead if you have a choice. And who brews this anyway? The label said "Pugsley Brewing" - maybe that was a joke.

12 oz bottle

One of the most mediocre beers that I have ever tried I am not sure how this remains on the market. Even the person I shared it with who usually likes fruity beers could not warm to this one. Half of it ended up going down the drain while I went in search of something better. Don’t waste your time with this; save your money for a beer that is worth the time.

Aroma / Appearance - The transparent rose gold body was virtually clear. Very boring to look at it was even worse in the nose. Apricot jolly ranchers are the only thing in play here. Even that is not as good as the real thing.

Flavor / Palate - Bland wheat trickled down the throat before mercifully fading fast. Apricot played a late role in the experience but was stronger in the aroma. It lingers in the throat not in a pleasant way but more like the awful taste you get from something that was overcooked. I think the bottle refund fee is worth more than the beer inside.

In bottle from Trader Joes, Foggy Bottom. Labeled as Kennebunkport Apricot Wheat, an alias for Sea Dog Apricot. Color is a peachy/apricoty amber with fizzy bubbles upon pouring. Bubbles continue, almost like a champagne. Smells like apricots, tastes like a piece of buttered toast with apricot jam on top. Yummy, not at all sharp in flavor, as many apricot brews are.

Bottle. Aroma is only apricot and some wheat. Taste is all apricots. Pours a yellowish orangish color with no head. Not very good. These are easy to drink and are definately a summer beer.

Smells like apricots. Looks an awful yellow. Taste is more apricot than wheat but certainly isn’t good.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a fizzy off white head. Big apricot aroma, flavor was like sugar free carbonated apricot juice. A nice summer beer for the ladies......ha.
