Commercial Description:
An English style classic pale ale brewed with all English grains including pale and crystal malts, the latter of which gives the beer a nice coppery hue and nutty flavor undertones. This pale ale is crafted with 4 different varieties of hops to give the beer a complex but well balanced hop character, finishing with a delightful but subtle Cascade hop nose

A: Served in a pint glass, there really wasn’t any head to speak of by the time it made it to the table... just a thin, white film on the beer. Body is a dark orange color, and slightly hazy. S: A little weak for an APA... some hops and maybe very light traces of citrus. T: Pretty decent; not the strongest-tasting APA out there, to be sure. Starts off with a bit of a lemon taste to it, then finishes bitter with the hops. But this is light bitterness here, making it easy to drink, but lacking in any real personality. M: Slightly creamy and medium-bodied, with average carbonation. D: Not a bad APA, but certainly not a great one. Definitely good enough to have one on a sunny day out on their deck, as it’s quite easy to drink.

On tap at brewpub. One of the selections in a sampler. Not bad. Nothing spectacular.

(Rating #1788)

Draft sampled at brewpub. Pours a clear amber color with a small white head. Weak aroma of grain and pale malts. Flavor follows the aroma with a thin body and a bitter finish

This is a beer with almost no smell but a nice light flavor. Definitely more enjoyable in the pub, especially from a mug club mug!

Cask at the brewery. This was actually called Bangor Pale (but i was drinking it at bangor...so what a surprise). This serves a pleasant copper color with a nice one finger white head. Aroma is mildly hoppy. This is pretty much your standard beer that you’ve tried a few times before....it’s completely dominated by the crystal malt and cascade hops. I couldn’t get much else out of it. It’s gets an ok rating because it’s so well defined, but then again it loses points because it’s not subtle at all.

Cask conditioned at the brew-pub. Clear copper color with no head. Weak aroma and flavor of hops and caramel. The palate is light and smooth. I had this beer on tap too but gave the same rating.
