Tasted very much like blueberries, which took away a lot of the wheat beer taste in my opinion. Nice change when you’re looking for a fruity beer. Taste was, well simply put, a wheat beer with blueberries. Not much more to say about it. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

Carbonation is streaming from the blueberries in the glass. sweet smooth blueberry, not too sweet, but rightly balanced, with a wheaty background. sweet blue berry front, and smooth finish. very good, smooth, sweet, and fruity. I like this with the berries, and it is fun to drink. nearbeer (1862), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Best by Dec 07. Clear golden with a medium and lasting head. Aroma is blueberry syrup and cream with some tartness thrown in there. Flavor is tart, acidic fruit that seems almost a combination of blueberry and raspberry. Light bodied and watery, Blue Paw is thirst-quenching, tingly and slightly dry on the finish. Very sessionable for a fruit beer, but a surprising choice for a winter seasonal. It tastes like a bunch of fresh blueberries with a fizz. Very refreshing. zywiecporter (10), Flintstone, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2007 Summer camping trip. Blueberry pancakes, then a sixer of the Sea Dog himself interspersed with Dominon Oak. Here’s the skinny: Yes, it’s heavy on the blueberry - both aroma and taste. If you’re looking for fruit beer with no identity, go Bar Harbor, and you may get a slight hint of blueberry flavor every so often. But if you like your fruit beers fruity (Boon Kriek style), and are a blueberry lover such as myself, the Sea Dog with the yellow cap is your man! bhensonb (4360), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Strong blueberry aroma when the cap popped. In the glass the aroma is blueberry and some wheat. Orange tinged gold color with a white head that didn’t last long. Thin to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The flavor is blueberry with standard wheat. It’s not super, but it is decent. The finish is very lightly sweet with something like blueberry skins. Clean, refreshing. Can’t say crisp, though. Surprisingly tasty. Earlier Rating: 6/6/2007 Total Score: 2.9 Open the bottle and smell blueberries from two feet away. In the glass some wheat seems detectable, but it’s all about blueberries. Light amber color with a decent white head. Tastes of blueberry skin, then wheat, then blueberry juice, finally a burst of sweetness that settles down to a blueberry mouth coat, and what could be a light hop bitter, but might well be more blueberry skin. Seems to be done with flavor additive rather than berries in the brew process. At least it’s "natural flavor added". Ok for a change of pace. Definitely not for constant consumption.
