| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 11, 2006 This fruit beer pours a deep orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is blueberries, without a lot of sweetness. A light to medium bodied fruit wheat. Malts are mild, mostly the flavor is from the blueberries. The fruit flavor is very noticeable, but it is not sweet or overpowering. Other than that it a fairly standard American Wheat. Crisp, light and refreshing. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Cletus (5055), Connecticut, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 11, 2006 Bottle. Pours a semi cloudy amber/copper with an initially creamy head that dissipates somewhat but remains enough to leave a generous amount of lacing throughout the drinking. Smells of blueberries, sugar, syrup, some sweet malt. Tastes of blueberry muffins with a nice malty backbone, some lemony elements and a sugary finish. One of the better blueberry ales I have tasted. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | May 8, 2006 I’m a huge fan of wild Maine blueberries, so if you are going to put them in a beer, I’m all over it. Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale is one of my all time favorite beers, because it takes wild Maine blueberries, and adds its wonderful aromas and flavors to an excellent amber ale. Sea Dog Blue Paw Wild Blueberry Wheat is another beer that uses wild Maine blueberries, but it isn’t quite up to snuff as the Altantic Coast’s Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale. That being said, I would be lying if I said, I did not like this beer, because I do. This beer pours to a bright, deep golden color, with a white head that fades, and a moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is nice, with fragrant with sweet aromas of Maine wild blueberry. The palate is crisp, with some tart wheat malt flavor, that leads into some sweet and sour blueberry flavor. This beer finishes with more wheat malt up front, then ends with some sweet wild Maine blueberry flavor that lingers. No real in between with this one. Either you will enjoy the blue berry character of this beer, or you won’t. I LOVE blueberry, so I am bias, but many beer lovers will find the blue berry in this beer a bit too much. Match this one with a big slab of blueberry pie, with vanilla ice cream. jefcon (1000), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 2, 2006 Gold in color -- no real head to mention. Lots of blueberry pancake on the aroma. Also a strange perfume. Odd, short palate. Blueberries where the hops should bite up front, and a juicy finish. Between them is a rough oats and wheat graininess. Not overly carbonated. Quenching, to be sure. Tough to categorize, but I have to say I liked it. Kind of. HogTownHarry (4005), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2006 Draught. At Coles, Buffalo NY - sampled from/with Biegamon. Clear bubbly yellow with an average draught white head. Aroma of fresh wild blueberries - not sweetened but still nicely fruity-sweet - with some sharp yeast and light alcohol. Taste was cloyingly fruit-sweet at first, but not overpowering as it didn’t taste artificial, and there’s enough actual spicy/yeasty generic witbier backbone too. Mouthfeel is very lively and sticky, a little acidic and of course sweet - maybe it was spring helping, but I liked this - fresh and tasty! Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of blueberries. The flavor is blueberries, sweet, just ok. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
