Sea Dog Blue Paw Wild Blueberry Wheat Ale

12 oz bottle from a Winter Beer 10 Pack purchased at World Market for me by my wife. Best enjoyed before March 09 notched on label. Pour is slight hazed golden ruby, active settling leads to a 1 1/2 inch white head. Aroma is dirty blueberries, some waxy wheat behind that. The blueberry smell is pretty unnatural smelling, more like blueberry pie filling out of a can. Taste is really chemical falsely sweet blueberry. This is more like the blueberry filling in one of those hostess pie things. Wheat is present, and is also very unclean. Palate is waxy and slick, long NutraSweet aftertaste.

Decent wheat beer with lots of blueberry taste. Very drinkable beer if in the mood for a fruitful wheat beer. Almost a clear yellow color, with slight almost no hop flavor.

The blueberry is sweet and tastes real. Makes the beer very smooth and relaxing. As far as wheat/fruit beers good, one of the best.

Courtesy of Sir Mik, thanks my friend. Comes as Kennebunkport Blueberry Wheat Ale. It is orange golden with a creamy head. The blue berries are evident during the pouring, but the aroma also holds sweetness and malt. The flavour has a strong sweetness and notes of blueberries and malt in a synthetic and artificial way. It’s more like a softdrink than anything else...

Pale yellow with a thin white head. Big aroma of expected blueberries with a noticeable wheaty aroma. Taste is weak though still blueberries, a bit artificial but has a nice wheat feel.

Served on-tap into a standard pint glass. Pale gold appearance, with mild bubbles and medium head. Smell is blueberry with out a doubt. It is possible to taste the wheat in this beer, but it is meant to be a fruit beer and the blueberry is certainly sweet. The blueberry flavor is very strong, and whether imagined or not gives me the impression of a cloying sticky sweet mouthfeel. Not my favorite fruit beer. Prefer beers that do not have such a strong extract quality to them. Hard to drink more than one in a session. Not bad, but not really up my alley

12oz bottle. Aroma has notes of blueberries, riesling, and citrus. Light amber hue with a small mostly disappearing white head that left no lace. Flavor is sweet and fresh. Palate is light bodied and lively. Not offensive in any way and is actually the best blueberry beer I’ve ever had. The blueberries come out even more when you take a drink. Quite well done. Suprised it’s rated so poorly.

Bottle. Pours a clear light amber with a small white head that quickly vanished. Strong smell of blueberries. Tastes like blueberries and is very sweet with a very slight hop flavor. Not bad, but not good either.
