Jul 4, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, orangey body with a frothy, medium-sized, ivory-colored head.
Smell: Buttery toffee scent with a tiny pinch of lemon zest and a spritz of perfume.
Taste: Butter-soaked toffee candy with a medium sweetness. Spicy, citrus hop character (though fairly light), with a medium bitterness. Bittersweet, buttery finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: So-so as far as India Pale Ales go. While the buttery component certainly didn’t help this thing, it, in my opinion, didn’t necessarily hurt it.

Jul 1, 2008 12oz bottle. labeled as Kennebunkport from trader joes. thanks xnoxhatex for this. pours clear copper-amber with white head. aroma is malty with subtle spicyness. flavor is caramelly, minimal hop presence but not much flavor, some spicyness. body is sometimes a bit heavy and syrupy. no hop balance here. sort of like an ipa without all the hops. i think i’m going to drain pour this for some PBR!

Jun 27, 2008 This reddish amber ale poured with a thin beige head and a roasted malt aroma. There is a carbonated malty flavor that has a sour finish.

Jun 27, 2008 Bottles. Big tan bubbly tan head literally blew out the end of the bottle into my mug. Nice amber brown color. Mouth feel was on the watery side. Flavor was sweet caramel, malt & bitter floral hops. This is the least citrusy IPA that I’ve ever tasted... which was a good thing for me. Aftertaste was bittersweet wheat or some sort of grain.

Jun 25, 2008 As Kennebunkport IPA. Amber with an airy beige head. Aroma of citrus, bread, toffee and grapefruit. Taste of citrus and sweet malt. A bit too over carbonated and finishes medium bitter with a burnt hop finish that turns to apples as it warms. Mediocre.

Jun 22, 2008 Had as Kennebunkport IPA, in 12 oz bottle found at Trader Joe’s. Pours with a decent white head which left little to no lacing on the glass. Light copper-penny color. Reasonably carbonated leaving an almost constant bubbling occurring. Smelt alright, but the taste was nothing special at all. I was looking for a more floral taste from the hops, but I agree with cobra below me in that it tasted more like grass. It did not give off the hoppy bite that I want in an IPA. Overly unimpressive, but you cannot always expect gold from a $6 six-pack. Always worth a try, but will never purchase again. Thank you to TJ’s for allowing single-bottle purchases.

Jun 22, 2008 kennebunkport IPA. Pours a nice coppery color with a decent head. Aroma was grassy with a nice note of hops. Flavor had a little resin with a small hop finish. Aroma seemed to be a bit better than the flavor. Over all, not a bad beer, but im not real sure why you would brew the exact same beer and relable it. Just doesnt make much sense to me
