Source:12 oz bottle from Trader Joe’s under the Kennebunkport name.
Glass:Perfect Pint.
Appearance:Clear amber pour with a thin off white head.
Aroma:A hint of citrus, but a huge, buttery diacetyl note overwhelms.
Flavor:The flavor reflects the aroma, with huge diacetyl. A mild bitter finish.
Palate:Medium body with solid carbonation.
Overall:Hands down the worst tasting and smelling IPA ever.

Bought under the name Kennebunkport IPA from Trader Joe’s. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a very thick tan head. Aroma is a smooth citrus, caramel, with a light acidic and light ester notes. Flavor starts of with both caramel malt and caramel candy flavors, a solid orange citrus note, a light banana note that melds well with the orange and finishes with slightly dry finish. Density is solid with the lower carbonation really meshing well with the overall characters of the beer. Overall a very good beer for the price and one that really has a fantastic mouth feel for the style.

Purchased at Trader Joe’s as Kennebunkport IPA under Pugsley Brewing, Portland ME. Poured a copper color with a thin head. Aroma of hops, citrus, malt and earth. Taste of hops, caramel and apricot. Decent mouthfeel and just the right amount of carbonation. Not a bad brew for short money at TJ’s.

Sampled at a beer tasting at Barb’s Beer Emporium in Concord, N.H. The pour was an amber tone with a foamy, beige head. The aroma was very sugary sweet...much more so than the usual IPA. Maybe that is why I liked it. The flavor is was very sweet tasting IPA and I tend to like sweets better than bitterness. May not be a favorite of IPA enthusiasts but I enjoyed it.

12oz bottle (Best before Dec. 09), labeled as Kennebunkport IPA, served in a shaker. Highly filtered clear amber pour with a creamy, one-finger thick head of lasting beige foam. Decent lace. The aroma included mild caramel, fruity yeast esters, and some faint citrus. Metallic. The flavor had light toast, caramel, and a hefty dose of butter. Just a touch of citric bitterness. Medium-bodied with a light amount of slightly aggressive carbonation. Probably the worst IPA I have ever tried. Almost no hops with a ton of DMS. Very poor.

A middle of the road IPA in just about every category- ordinary appearance, mild aroma, and the classic IPA finish. Decent beer but I won’t be buying it again.

Bottle under the Kennebunkport name.. Pours a clear amber with a thin foamy off-white head that leaves thin rings of lacing. Aroma is mild with a spicy cooked vegetable character. Flavor is very bitter with little hop flavor and a dry toastiness. This isn’t good. Lingers astringently with a bad vegetative body. Ick. 4 3 3 3

Hard to describe, ordinary. A bit of spiciness, aroma is all malt but the taste is balanced finishing with brash bitterness. Nothing special but a solid offering.
