In a bottle as Kennebunkport IPA. It looked like an IPA. It sort of smelled like an IPA, but an anemically hopped one to which a few spritzes of a commercial glass cleaner had been added. Taste was sweetly malty with astringent hops, especially in the finish. A horribly below-average example of the style in every respect.

A total gusher, hazy golden orange with lots of foamy light cream color head. Nose is tart and acidic this must be infected. Some malt taste but more acidity, medicinal. Possibly some citrus hops on the tongue but not really bitter, just lingering hops. This needs a re-rate with a proper bottle. Re-rate: This one doesn’t gush but pours golden orange with an enormous off white foam even with a careful pour. Aroma is acidic, apples, some malt sweetness. Taste is again off, sour, some sweetness, apples. No hops. Original rating: 3:3:3:3:8

Bottle: Pours a copper bronze color with a nice head and good lacing. The nose is lightly grassy with a fresh hop note, a bit sweet and fruity though with ample caramel malt and a doughy cookie note. The flavor is balanced, more sweet though, almost too much malt, not enough bitterness. The finish is mellow, sweet and doughy. Good nose, hoppy throughout, pronounced caramel.

Tasted as Kennebunkport India Pale Ale, and mentioning Pugsley Brewery, Portland on the label... Deep orange-copper beer, clear, with a small yellow head, fast gone; Bit solvent initially in the nose, then more classical hops. Not really overwhelming. Sweetish, caramelly taste, quite malty with a good hoppy, if nowhere bitter background. Cookies, very faint orange. Quite spritzy, carbonated MF. Light body. Only in the aftertaste, a discreet spike of metallic bitter appears. Run-of-the-mill IPA, no faults. Thanks, DA!

Date: 09/19/08, 12 oz. bottle labeled Kennebunkport IPA, from Doboy

Aroma - Caramel, earth, roasty grain,

Appearance - Coppery amber with a a thin light beige head, fair lace

Flavor - Quite malty with a caramel and toffee sweetness, some peppery bitterness enters slowly, but is sufficient for a soft dry finish

Palate - Medium body and carbonation, smooth, barely dry

Overall - Drinkable, but unremarkable.

pours copper with nice light tan head, and some nice lacing. aroma is mostly metallic with some sweetness and yeastiness, flavor is honey with a ligh citrus malt finish, pretty mild for an IPA Flavor got better towards the end of the glass with more maltiness.

Bottled as Kennebunkport IPA, and my parents were in town, and they honeymooned in Kennebunkport, and I’ll try anything once... Nice looking one finger frothy head on top of a clear copper body left nice lacing. No strong aroma - some butterscotch and hops, but much less than I expected. Bready malts up front with an increasingly strong hops bitterness toward the finish. Nice carbonation, medium bodied, and finishes well - this beer got better toward the bottom of the glass.

Hazy light amber pour with a rocky off white head. Sweet malty aroma. Thin bodied grassy hop flavor and loads of yeast flavor
