quite spicy, maybe a little bit over the top. I mean this truly did taste like pumpkin pie, sweet malts , some cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg are quite dominant, with just a bit of caramel, the finish is bone dry.

Best before March 06. This ale pours a light orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is cinnamon, pumpkin pie, nutmeg and ginger. A light to medium bodied spice/vegetable beer. Malts are fruity and sweet. The sweetness seems to come from some artificial means and not the malts, as at time it tastes a little like an orange soda, then the pumpkin pie spices, cinnamon and nutmeg show up. A little light in body, a little thin tasting and somewhat artificial. As Pumpkin beers goes it’s not bad, Mouthfeel is full. Finish is a touch harsh and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle. A light golden yellow color with a white head. A pumpkin pie, ginger, cinnamon and spiced aroma that pains to come through in the flavor which leans more towards vegitable and light malts. The aftertaste is pleasant enough. Best just to smell this one.

I seem to like the pumpkin ales that few others on here appreciate. This one, along with Buffalo Bill’s are my favorites and I strive to have them stashed away year around for the right occasion. Strong ale backbone with a pleasing blend of pumpkin and spices that makes for a well-balanced beer. Not nearly as sweet as Dogfish Head’s cloying Punkin Ale, Sea Dog’s is dry and subdued--behind the spices is a solid ale that can stand alone.

well this is my first "pumpkin beer" so here goes....the sea dog resmebled a lager in appearance and did give off a "spicy pumpkin" type smell in the aroma.the flavor also did the same although i must say this was WAY TO DRY.but i must say this did taste like pumpkin pie with whip cream on top.

The beer was a bit thin to support the spices, although it did have a nice surge of allspice in the finish. Light gold in color with a modest head, it seems to be more about the spices than the squash, since I didn’t detect any pumpkin in the taste. Okay.

Not impressed with this 12 oz bottle. Poured like a pale lager. Aromas of metal and skunk. Flavors were a bit better. Pale Lager flavor with some spice in it. It had a few sour notes as well. Drikable, but just barely.
