Has a strong raspberry aroma with hints of wheat. It’s highly carbonated and very smooth. The flavor is very sweet raspberries with a mild fruity aftertaste. Overall not a bad beer.

Clear gold with a ring of white head. Smells like chocolate covered raspberries, wheat, and some banana? Reminds me of lindeman’s framboise. No suprises here, tastes of raspberries and wheat. Medium thin body with moderate carbonation. Suprisingly refreshing and good for a change of pace, but I’m not sure if this could be a session beer.

I tried to rinse my mouth of the awful taste of Blue Dawg, before i tried this one. but this too was dissapointing. Poured a clear brightly coloured golden with a thin white top, more like a white ring around the glass. Aroma was of sweet overly ripe raspberries and yogurt. Slightly grainy mouthfeel, taste initally is sweet but slowly morphs into watery body. 0 for 2 in fruit beers this evening.

Pours with a deep golden body with reddish highlights. The head is thin and quickly disappears and no lace is left on the glass. Strong raspberry aroma with a malty wheat background. Strong raspberry flavor with hints of maltiness. Tastes like a raspberry soda. I guess if I wanted to get drunk on raspberry soda I would drink this stuff. Smooth and light bodied with a soda like feel

I absolutely loved the Sea Dog Blueberry beer, and had high hopes that the Raspberry Wheat would live up to its brother’s good reputation. It begins with the thick white head and the light orange body, blushed with a little rose red. It’s more decorous than a wheat beer, but still plainly adorned. The aroma will be very familiar to drinkers of New Belgium’s Frambozen for some odd reason, though the Raspberry Wheat itself has a faint spritz of sugary raspberry that adheres well to the beer’s wheaty grain base. All this is quite lovely, except that crystallized sugar raspberry taste may be a little cloying. A sip or two and you can the impression your in a bath and beauty store. The raspberry flavor tries to push against the heavier, oppressive grain taste, but only enough to hint at the taste of extremely artificial, affected raspberries. It’s light and it’s floral, but chemically, and ultimately ends up tasting like a fruit scented shampoo. Once this industrial tap dance on the tongue is done, the flavor suddenly shifts to a dry wheatiness and then to a quick, effervescent aftertaste. I am sad to say that this in no way parallels the quality or applicability of the Blueberry beer from Sea Dog.
