dimenhetfield (157), , Florida, USA Oct 31, 2009 Not too dark, but it still holds true to the characters of what a porter should be. Roasted nut characters with hints of coffee. BroSpud (584), , Massachusetts, USA Feb 15, 2009 On tap at brewpub. One of the selections in a sampler. This one was pretty good. Can’t remember specifics. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Dec 27, 2008 12oz bottle. Very dark brown, soapy tan head. Big nutty aroma of lots of hazelnuts. HUGE HAZELNUT. Very dry roast, lots of stycki hazelnut syrup. Like a cold hazelnut coffee with extra syrup. Nice malt profile, good hop. perfect balance. Fun, to flavorful form me... fidelis83 (709), Clinton, Iowa, USA Oct 16, 2008 Updated: May 27, 2009Pours burnt dark brown with a huge tan head that last a long while. Aroma is nutty, sweet, toasty, roasty, butterscotch, and hazelnut syrup flavored coffee. Roast malt, buttered toast, HAZELNUT (I love hazelnut, but WOW...way too strong, it tastes like someone took an average dry stout, a porter, and hazelnut syrup and mixed them equally, very artificial). Enough spicy, and bitter hops to balance a portion of the flavor but it remains oddly sweet and too nutty. Body is thin and over carbonated for a porter. BREWMUSKCLES (1062), New Jersey, USA May 2, 2008 buttery and smokey like a good scotch ale. nutty and tastes strikingly like frangelica. bottle reads drink in 2006. lucky find at moe’s deli 38th st 9th ave manhattan nyc. good body and moderate carbonation with a spicy hop character that is quite muted but distinct. moderate in the malts and sweetness.
