simonbilyk (42), Maine, USA Sep 15, 2009 12oz Mystic Seaport Pale Ale. Slight haze and golden colored, quick head. Faint aroma. Well balanced, hops character is in two distinct stages, flavor then bitterness, with a pause in between. Slight fruit in the finish, maybe cascade hops? Definitely drinkable, won’t go out of my way but if it’s on tap or offered to me I will definitely say yes. Yay beer! rcweir (119), Massachusetts, USA Jul 29, 2009 Light orange/amber with thin head. Sweet with hoppy finish, nice balance. Moderate carbonation.
smcolw (314), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA Jun 27, 2009 Clear liquor with a gold/straw color. Good head that leaves a decent lace.
Floral hop, attractive mild spice.
The flavor is dry, but slightly sour. Kinda a traditional ale--notable hope with a solid malt base. Neutral overall taste. Moderate body with an above average carbonation.
BiddleBrau (303), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Jun 7, 2009 on tap under the name Mystic Pale ale. Golden amber with no head. Very faint malt aroma, no hops. Low bitterness and malt profile. Not overly flavorful and low carbonation makes this beer forgetable. VTHopHead (895), Barre, Vermont, USA Mar 1, 2009 Draft - Purchased as "Mystic Seaport Pale Ale" at Mystic Pizza in Mystic, CT - Poured a darkish amber in color with a small white head that faded quickly. Aroma was of fruity hops and some sweet malt. Flavor was not very strong, but there was some of the hops and a bit of malt. Mildly bitter with a lingering bitterness at the end. Just OK, not great... TaktikMTL (2745), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Jul 15, 2008 En fût. (Rating #1792) mvcramer (229), Arlington, Massachusetts, USA Apr 27, 2008 Good, not great. Tough style to make magnificent. I’d rate this as a decent blonde. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Dec 22, 2007 (12oz bottle, Mystic Pale Ale) Crystal clear light amber body topped by small white head that quickly diminishes. Aroma is medium sweet, grassy, some grapefruit, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, seltzer, light bread. Watery light body. Incredibly bland.
