| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 10, 2005 Pours a clear pale copper. Sparkling with a thin ivory head. Smells of sweet light malt. Grassy and lightly fruity.
Taste is crisp and lightly bitter up front. Not much body though. Lightly fruity and grassy. Too fizzy and not enough flavor in the body. Bitter finish and refreshing but an uneventful brew.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 18, 2005 Not a bad little blonde ale. Pours a deep gold in color, decent sized white head. Aroma of malt and citrus with a touch of floral hops. Flavor is smooth and malty ... a bit thin, but good. Cottrell (72), Connecticut, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 21, 2005 This is a Mystic, CT based beer that’s contract brewed by Shipyard. Pours a amber color with a white foam head. Aroma is classically ringwood, along with grassy earthy hops, and caramel malts. Taste brings more earthy and grassy hops, and crystal malts. An exquisitely balanced pale ale. Don’t expect anything over the top here, it’s a classic english pale ale. There is a slight buttery feel, presumably due to the ringwood yeast, that’s a little off-putting. Other than that, a very fine beer, worth trying at least once. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2004 I havent had many blonde ales before but I really liked this one. It was kind of surprising that it had some flavor and some hops to it. I might have to buy this one again when I’m back up in Maine this fall. DYCSoccer17 (2192), Davis, California, USA

RE-RATE. BOTTLE BEST BY 02/03. So, this is pretty old, but I had to re-rate this stuff. Granted I originally had it on tap at the brewery. Aroma is mild. Clean and malty. Certainly not the original 10 that I gave it in my novice days. The pour is a transparent blonde with a quickly dissipating head. Again, not worth the 5 that I gave it. I will still stand by the fact that this has an above average taste with maybe some hints of blueberry and some definitely nice malty notes. It’s not worth a 9. Palate is nice, but not perfect. It took me a long time, but this is no longer my top beer. Great session beer, though.
Mystic Seaport Pale Ale is supposedly this same beer. Here is my rating of that. Aroma is virtually non-existant. Maybe a small touch of malts in there. Pours a transparent orange twinged blonde with a small quickly dissipating white head. Pretty boring brew. Malty finish. No real hop character present. Tastes more like a lager than a PA. Easy drinking, though. 3/3/4/48 2.2
