Commercial Description:
A refreshing, straw-colored ale. The intense aromatics of Cascade hops are balanced by the richness of traditional two-row British malted barley. The fruity palate and crisp finish of this top-fermented ale bespeak of its British origins.

The dog Barney is cool. I think they do a really good job of marketing. As for the beer this is a good beer for the summer time. It is light and golden and it goes down easy.

(355 ml bottle). Deep golden colour, good head. Lovely fruity aroma - some oak and spices too. Malty rounded flavour, still with a great bitterness. Good beer!

If you are ever in Mystic, try this on draft. If its fresh its fantastic. Nice crisp hops, a great pale ale.

This is a Mystic, CT based beer that’s contract brewed by Shipyard. Pours a amber color with a white foam head. Aroma is classically ringwood, along with grassy earthy hops, and caramel malts. Taste brings more earthy and grassy hops, and crystal malts. An exquisitely balanced pale ale. Don’t expect anything over the top here, it’s a classic english pale ale. There is a slight buttery feel, presumably due to the ringwood yeast, that’s a little off-putting. Other than that, a very fine beer, worth trying at least once.

Sheer gold with an orange hue. Thick, sticky off white head. Steady carbonation. Aroma of Ringwood yeast, pale malts and grassy hops. Crisp body, light to medium feel. Slightly bubbly. Pale and caramel malt base with a smattering of buttery yeast. Not overbearing, but evident. Grassy, floral hop balance. Fairly dry. Easy drinking. Finishes with a subdued buttery flavor and soft English malt sweetness. A good session brew.

Super clear light gold, some light suspended flecks. Tiny bubbled sticky white head. Moderately heavy carbonation. Telltale Ringwood yeast aroma, light hops. Mellow body, loaded with grassy and floral hoppiness. Nice bitter hoppy aftertaste laced with yeasty fruitiness. Light malt sweetness and a shockingly thick body. Remains full bodied, hoppy and balanced all the way through. Finishes hoppy (never guess it was Cascades) and slick. Solid Blonde Ale, never thought I’d say that. Gotta love what Ringwood yeast can do to a light brew.

I like this one better than their IPA, which is unusual for me. Clear slightly dark gold color, white head and decent lace. Malt nose with some hop floral tones noted. Front malt sweet, the top clean and freah, and a fair to mild hop bite at the some what dry finish. Clean crip and refreshing, a really nice beer.

An absolute AWESOME beer--had this on tap in Bangor, ME. I have absolutely no complaints and I would drinki this all the time if i had the chance! RE-RATE. BOTTLE BEST BY 02/03. So, this is pretty old, but I had to re-rate this stuff. Granted I originally had it on tap at the brewery. Aroma is mild. Clean and malty. Certainly not the original 10 that I gave it in my novice days. The pour is a transparent blonde with a quickly dissipating head. Again, not worth the 5 that I gave it. I will still stand by the fact that this has an above average taste with maybe some hints of blueberry and some definitely nice malty notes. It’s not worth a 9. Palate is nice, but not perfect. It took me a long time, but this is no longer my top beer. Great session beer, though.
Mystic Seaport Pale Ale is supposedly this same beer. Here is my rating of that. Aroma is virtually non-existant. Maybe a small touch of malts in there. Pours a transparent orange twinged blonde with a small quickly dissipating white head. Pretty boring brew. Malty finish. No real hop character present. Tastes more like a lager than a PA. Easy drinking, though. 3/3/4/48 2.2
