Commercial Description:
Our flagship golden ale crafted with two-row barley, wheat and German malt makes this beer a real crowd favourite. The combination of English and Oregon hops nicely enhances the natural sweetness of the malt flavour.

Pours straw-golden with a creamy head diminishing to a film, a ring of bubbles lacing the glass nicely. This is a pretty beer. Layered clean malts with a hint of caramel make up the aroma, accented by some light herbal hops. Full, malty and grainy flavours dominate in the mouth, well supported by a very smooth but firm bitterness and ending in a subtle sweet malty note. Low acidity, no astringency at all, just clean cascading malt flavours. An approachable beer brewed with real finesse.

A golden ale with a thin white head. A nice caramelly malt with light butterscotch notes. In mouth, a nice biscuitty malt with some good grainy qualities, light British hops, a bit of an oily mouthfeel. Lighter bodied. On tap at brewpub, Oct. 10 2009.

Aroma is lightly hoppy. A bit of soft citrus over the pale malt sweetness. It’s got a lovely balance. Low to moderate bitterness with a lingering citrus note over the bready malt sweetness. Another nice, sessionable ale.

On tap at the Port Pub, sampled 10/4/08. Golden yellow colour with a fully diminishing fizzy white head. Floral, light citrus and grainy aroma. Grainy and toasty malts with a moderate floral and citrus bitter finish. Medium bodied, firm mouthfeel. Like the Moondance Organic Lager, not a world beater, but way above and beyond your standard brewpub pale ale.

[1834-20081101] Tap. Mildly hoppy strawberry fruit aroma. Clear, pale orange yellow body with a quick bubbly white head. Fruity strawberry jam flavour has notes of pear juice. Medium body. Nice but was expecting something hoppier.

Pint in Port Williams. I found the beer had a weak aroma, sweet with some honey. texture was a little syrupy. Again just like the aroma the flavour had hints of honey and malt. Seems a well balanced ale, combining the bitterness and sweetness well. Very refreshing. Great beer sat out on the patio looking down the river in the summer.

Draught at pub (Aug/08). Pours a clear light yellow gold with small whitish head. Aroma of sweet malt and a hint of hoppiness. Taste of sweet malt, slight graininess and a slight bitterness in the finish. Pretty good.

2008-11-01. Crisp clear yellow body with a good sized white head. Mild aroma, fruity, light florals. (6+) Flavour is similar, sweet malt, fruit, light citrus notes in the finish, brief touch of lime acidity like a sauvignon blanc? Light bitterness. Smooth average palate. On tap at Port Pub
