SamGamgee (1395), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Jul 10, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Amber colored, with a decent head. The aroma has a mild hoppiness that is typical of american hops. Tastes hoppy, but smooth. the hops are evident, but not too bitter. Nice caramel and toasted malt flavors give it a good body. Quite easy to drink, and well balanced. Has plenty of hops for balance, but stays below the amber-IPA range. Nothing amazing, but a quality, drinkable brew.
