Pours like motor oil and has a great aroma full of spices. Flavor is very malty and has a smooth dry finish. An excellent brew. decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2007 RBSG 07. A dark brown pour with a slight hint of dark tan lacing. A burnt malt aroma. A hint of smoke in the flavor with sweet malt. Smooth easy drinker I’m sure. The palate was smooth and full but the carbonation was a bit over the top for me. hopscotch (5507), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Bottle… RBSG 07… Pitch black with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Both the aroma and flavor are rich “Willy Wonka-style” rivers of chocolate bliss. Medium to full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and light carbonation. Well-roasted, raspy, and then dry finish. It’s what an oatmeal stout is supposed to be. This brewery “gets it!” JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 5, 2007 RBSG 07. A better than average oatmeal stout. Flavor is full of malt and some chocolate. Flavor does have oatmeal, as well as popcorn and sweet malt. Very nice palate and a very thick and heavy beer. BDR (2164), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2007 Deepest of browns make the body look black , though when backlit it certainly isn’t. A thin, dark tan head sticks around fairly well atop an oily surface. Thin arc lacing remains after the recession. The aroma is absolutely sumptuous. Chocolate chip cookie notes nearly completely dominate. Caramel, vanilla, oats and lightly toasted grains lurk not far behind. Bold roast is eventually supplemented by light anise and molasses, as well as a touch of raspberry puree. Alcohol is masked totally. The best aroma I’ve encountered thus far in an oatmeal stout, awesome. The flavor, however, is muddled. Notes expressed well in the nose are mutedand nearly drowned by oatmeal maltiness and light caramel. Sweetness is mild and a touch of smokiness rolls in late with increased warmth. Finishes chocolatey and lightly roasty. The mouthfeel is soft, with light carbonation and is medium bodied. Very smooth. The flavor of this beer was really a letdown after encountering such a wonderful and tantalizing aroma. SoLan (1426), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Courtesy aspidites. Black, dark brown edges. 1.5cm of dense, light brown foam. Very nice nose- roasty malt, creamy dark chocolate, coffee, and a light dose of bitter hops. Similar flavor with a little less impact. Medium body, smooth with just enough carbonation. Very good oatmeal stout. 1FastSTi (2569), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Thanks Alan. The beer pours to a black body with a thin tan head. The aroma is really nice. Chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal, sweetened condensed milk, black patent. The flavor is an oatmeal cookie/brownie, seems like toasted coconut, hazelnut or almond, and chocolate. Tangy, dry, medium bodied.
