Here’s another brewery I’d never even heard of before having a chance to sample their beer. Good stuff with a decent balance of roast and sweet flavors and aromas. Somewhat thin and hints of DMS but overall drinkable and nice. yesyouam (611), Fairport, New York, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 17, 2007 (Sampler at the brewpub) Pours solid black with no real head. The aroma is of dark black malt and perhaps licorice. It’s thick and pretty smooth. The bitterness in the flavor approaches mocha. Great stuff. scanman (146), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2006 Pours a dark black/brown with brown/tan head. Initial flavors of brandy, malts, chocolate, coffee and coal. Not bad, but very intense for an oatmeal stout. Not very creamy or fruity like other "sweet" stouts. Recommended with reservations. Similar to the devout stout, but has a bit more body, sweeter, and fuller mouthfeel. Nice orasted barley character, some chocolate, and a dry almond-like finish. Pretty smooth and has a slight slick sweetness in the end. MullMan (1086), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA
