| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 14, 2009 Light and crisp, with toasty highlights and hop depth, including piney and citrus overtones. Excellent session beer that has a distinct west coast profile without the "bigness" (aka, alcohol content).

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Dark gold-light amber with lasting foam. Pretty light aroma, with subtle yet distinct hops that you would expect in a west coast pale ale. The flavor has a pleasant toasty maltiness, balanced by nice hop flavor that is a little grapefruit peel and a little herbal pine. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation. Quite drinkable, pretty tasty, pretty average, but good balance. Not exactly adventurous, but you couldn’t go wrong with it. illidurit (896), Santa Cruz, California, USA

Honey/straw color, sticky white head leaves ample lacing. Aroma is lightly malty with prominent floral hoppiness. Taste is also hop-centric, with a piny bitterness and a modest pale malt profile for balance. Typical medium-thin body and high carbonation, easy to drink. badlizard (2380), Berkeley, California, USA

For me it served as a palate cleanser between the Cocoa Brown and the Blur. Typical West Coast style APA. Pelican went very well with Seabright’s Buffalo wings. hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
