Seabright Plum Crazy Wheat

On tap at the brewpub. Opaque goldenrod color with a wet white head. Aroma is pruney and plummy with a mealy wheat background. Flavor is thankfully more subdued than the aroma as far as the fruitiness goes. Standard wheaty flavors with just enough fruit to make it interesting, and a dry finish with a touch of hops. I’ve had a lot of crappy wheat beers from this brewery but this one is actually pretty decent.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours hazy golden-orange, with a moderate off-white head. Aroma and flavor are a nice mixture of a robust, unfiltered American wheat, with just a hint of the plum sweetness and a hint of hops. Best-done fruit wheat beer I’ve had, I think, because the fruit is understated and not overly sweet, and the beer itself is quite solid and flavorful. Even judged just as a wheat beer for those who don’t like fruit beers, this is very good.
