Commercial Description:
This beer is a traditional filtered Pacific Northwest India Pale Ale. Although golden in color, this is not a light beer. With more than 60 bitterness units it’s got a bite to it, but is well balanced by the sweetness of a 7.4% alcohol by volume brew. This a is a very aggressive tasting beer.

This is a hometown brew so its hard to criticize, but there is some filtering issues (sediment was floating in the 22 oz bottle I bought from the store) and the mouthfeel is quite one-dimensional. But there are some nice lingering after tastes of citrus, apple and bitter berry. Well worth a try, but I just wish the front, initial tastes were more enticing. It should be noted that this beer opens up well as it gets warmer. Try it on tap at the brewery the next time your in Santa Cruz.

Draft. Golden amber beer with a nice white head. Woody, piney hop flavor with light malt backing. Slight citrus/woody aroma. Decent bitterness. Finishes dry. Nothing big about this beer, needs more oomph - especially for a IIPA. Nothing outstanding.

Hazy golden hue, with myriad flecks floating about, ’neath a proud, fluffy snow-white head o’ foam. Okay. Nose is soft and soapy, slightly citric, some lemon peeking through, but far too mild of a hop presence for any kind of an IPA, really. Bitter, citric attack on the tongue from the start, doing a fine ride through the mouth...sticks around with admirable aplomb. Bright and brash. (The alcohol sticks out a bit, after a while.) Coats the palate well, with a general hoppiness, flavors of apricot, peach, pineapple. Tasty. I’m liking it more and more. Fullish body, long, bitter, fruity finish, nice, tangy texture. And really tasty. Lip-smacking. Could use a touch more depth and complexity, but there you have it.

Not Bad. Does have some pine and grapefruit notes as stated below. The flavor gets better at a lower temp. Stays carbinated (Which is a positive for me) Been drinking the same bottle for over an hr. only 12 miles from brewery. U Save store in S Valley has it 7.3% 22 OZ Bottle.

I had it on draft as a close-out at the brewpub. Foggy amber body with nice citrus nose and overall sweetness. Bitterness is there in the aftertaste but overall a smooth 2XIPA. I think I had a fresh sample at the brewery and it made me enjoy mine more than if I had it out of a bottle.

Cloudy amber pour with a quick head. Junipers and citrus dominate on the senses with a lemony tart palate and bitter aftertaste. Holds up well on the nose but could use a few brewing improvements.

On tap poured a cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma of pine and grapefruit. Flavors of bitter citrus with a dry bitter finish.
