Commercial Description:
An imperial smoked porter. We used 120 lbs. of malt smoked over Cherry wood to get the unique smoky flavor. English hops help balance out the malt profile. This is a big brew so drink responsibly or you might wind up in the depths of hell.

Draught at the brewpub. Nearly black dark brown color with a lasting beige head. The aroma hit initially with an almost medicinal smoke before giving way to sweet chocolatey malt. The flavor is thick and fudgy with a healthy yet not really hot alcohol presence, a light smokiness, and plenty of sweetness. Roast is on the light side, with a light woody quality as well. The body is full and a little sticky. the smoke doesn’t really integrate that well and ends up muddying the already overly sweet body a bit. Drinkable, but not a one that I would sit down with again.
