Commercial Description:
Lake Trout Stout is Midnight black with a thick and creamy head. It is a full body stout brewed with oatmeal and plenty of hops to balance the roasted barley. Our stout is an experience. It tastes the same way it looks dark and rich. You will preceive it as thick and chewy and our Lake Trout stout delivers. It is named after the famous deep water Sebago Lake Togue or Lake Trout which inhabit the depths of Maine's deepest lake. Enjoy.

Bottle. Opaque black color. No head, though tannish ring circles the glass. Roasted elements, malty, coffee beans, almonds, nutty. Soda-like in consistency, though watery and flat. Bland and weak past the aroma and a real disappointment. Don’t tease the drinker.

Pours a dark black. Great head with aggressive pour. Cream, dark tan with great lacing. Delicious roasted malt aroma. Chocolate and caramel fills the nose. Tastes of coffee. Strong hop presence. Sweet roasted malts balance. Medium on the palate. Carbonation at good levels. Slightly fizzy. This beer has fantastic aroma. Good flavor, but a tad hoppy. Very good.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of roasted malt, some spicy hints. Tastes of sweet malt, chocolate, some roasted character, peppery.

Dark brown / black with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, oatmeal, cocoa, and light smoke. Taste of sweeter chocolate, roasted malts, oatmeal, and caramel, with a dry, roasty finish.

22oz bottle shared courtesy of egadjsisi. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, oatmeal, and some caramel. A little earthy and woody. Tastes of chocolate, oatmeal (less than the aromas), and a lighter coffee.

Thanks to gizegad. Pours a deep brown almost black with a medium bubbly tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, tobacco, oatmeal, nuts, caramel and coffee. Flavor of roasted malt, bitter coffee, caramel, nuts, toffee, chocolate, oats and tobacco.

Pure black color with a dark brown head. Aroma is mainly of roasted malts with some chocolate and oatmeal undertones. Taste is pretty much full bodied. It has some coffee flavors as well as a little bit of dark chocolate. Leaves a nice and silky feel in the mouth for the aftertaste.

650 ml bottle courtesy of Coldbrewky. Thanks steve. Pours an opaque black color with a big foamy uneven tan head that has great retention and some lacing. The aroma is sweet with chocolate and coffee. The flavor is earthy with coffee, multilayer chocolates, mocha, biter walnuts and a bit of dirt. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is long with lingering biter dark chocolate. Overall: This is a great sweet stout, it starts sweet and then finishes biter, very tasty.

My Bottom Line:
This pillowy Stout develops lightly roasted coffee notes and blueberry esters, finishing in leafy hop bitterness.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the brownish black.
-The flavor profile is not really memorable, but the mouthfeel is really appealing and the malts flavors well rendered.
-Roasted malts reappear in the finish as well.
-This was not served on nitrogen, which is appreciated.

On tap at the Portland location.
