| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 18, 2005 Orange-red hue with a creamy, !off-white! head. WONDERFUL fresh hop aroma of pine and citrus. Caramel and toasted bread underneath. Restrained but potent. Just...fuggin’ awesome. Moderately sweet, moderately bitter flavor becomes a lightly sweet, moderate to heavily bitter finish. Medium-full body, creamy texture, average carbonation. The bottom line is: I *heart* this beer. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jan 30, 2004 Updated: Jan 20, 2006UPDATE: They put this on cask, and lemme tell ya, Holy. Shit. Again I suspect that this beer will never appeal to the die hard hopheads b/c it’s simply not bitter enough, but the engine brought out such a wealth of Hop Flavor without overwhelming bitterness, that....just....wow. Like drinking a pine tree, but without bitter beer face. It was fantastic to taste the hops without severe bitterness getting in the way. On the down side, I was burping resiny burps for hours afterward and I think it gave me indigestion. But, wow. This is so bright and fresh and in your face I thought I was going to Die. Old rating 4.1.
P.S. Did I mention that this IPA is 100% Grapefruit Free? Fucking beautiful.
This was WAY wierd, let me tell ya. Delicate floral and Swiss cheese nose. Super malty, almost smokey, and you’d miss the bitterness if you weren’t looking for it. Also some fruity flavors. Complex and very nice, but unlike an IPA, in my opinion. An IPA I’d have again, surprise, surprise! MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
