Aroma of sweet, toasty caramel malt and lemony citrus with some clove complexity and authentic German yeastiness. Starts with good fullness and sweet dark caramel German malt with a smooth bready yeasty character. Finishes smooth and semi-sweet with a peppery clove balance. The aroma is soft banana and clove, burnt caramel, some chocolate hints, and some woody notes. The flavor is banana, earth, some bitter chocolate, clove, anise and pepper. A bit of estery banana but not really strong, followed by some off-tang. Dark reddish amber clear with off-white lacing head. Medium heavy watery body with medium-light carbonation. Good wheaty maltiness. Light acid malt tang and some malted chocolate milk. Has a little funkiness to it. Very little bitterness at all, with juicy raisin finish.
