Pours a transparent hazy dark copper amber with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet, toasty caramel malt and lemony citrus with some clove complexity and authentic German yeastiness. Starts with good fullness and sweet dark caramel German malt with a smooth bready yeasty character. Finishes smooth and semi-sweet with a peppery clove balance. A nice dunkelweizen.

quite an enjoyable wheat beer. Lots of fruity esters, banana, bubble gum, clove, with some dark malt aromas in the mix. poured a tawny brown with a very small head. Flavor was fairly nuanced with wheat and dark malts. little tartness. quite enjoyable and went rather well with the pouched flounder pita.

Draft pint at brewpub. Pours a hazy medium brown colored body under a tight bubbled one finger bone white head that retained as a creamy film. Aroma is of hearty wheat with some lighter coffee and roast. Lots of fruity esters of banana and bubblegum. A light tinge of sourness. Flavor is pretty basic, dark wheat with hints of roast and light coffee. Finishes slightly sweet with a nice lightly yeasty tang. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a fairly creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Finishes a little sticky. Overall, this was a decent effort, I enjoyed it.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours burnt orange with thin beige head. The aroma is soft banana and clove, burnt caramel, some chocolate hints, and some woody notes. The flavor is banana, earth, some bitter chocolate, clove, anise and pepper. It has a nice mellow yeastiness and good balance. There’s just a touch of lemony hops in the finish. I enjoyed this one.

This was largely run-of-the-mill with the appropriate wheaty tang and some maltiness. Aroma is sweetish with bubblegum notes. Mouthfeel solid. Finish non-sticky. Could have used some more spiciness and pep, but not too bad a stab at what appears to be (at least based on samples I’ve had) a rather difficult style to nail.

On tap at the brewery. Mild dusty grainy wheat aroma. A bit of estery banana but not really strong, followed by some off-tang. Dark reddish amber clear with off-white lacing head. Medium heavy watery body with medium-light carbonation. Good wheaty maltiness. Light acid malt tang and some malted chocolate milk. Has a little funkiness to it. Very little bitterness at all, with juicy raisin finish. Tangy raisin after with bit of banana.
