savnac (393), Palmer, Alaska, USA Oct 30, 2009 On tap @ Selins Grove. Clear mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma is roasty, toffee and caramel. Sweet flavor with a roasty bitterness and well hidden alcohol taste. Medium body with a mild carbonation. Not bad just a bit thin and bland compare to the other Baltic Porters I’ve had. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Oct 25, 2009 Draft at Selins Grove Brewpub. Pours a brune body with a white head. Licorice, chocolate malt with a chewy moderately warm body. A quick fleeting fudge like note but then a quick shift to a bitter roast finish. Decent porter. TomDecapolis (3127), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 12, 2009 Tap at Selins Grove. Pours a translucent deep copper with a bubbly off white head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee and nuts. Flavor of the same. Not really to roasty. MrChopin (620), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2009 Draft at Selin’s. Transparent amber with a large cream head. Nose has cocoa, brown sugar, oatmeal, and heavy caramel malt. Same in the flavor, more a scottish ale, only hints of roast in the flavor. Sweet, creamy body, a little sticky. Odd beer, more a brown or scottish ale, definitely not a porter. goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Feb 24, 2009 Growler. Poured a hazed copper-brown color. Lightly roasted malt and chocolate make up the flavor and the aroma. Tastes like a brown ale to me but with a little alcohol. Light to medium body. Oakes (8057), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 24, 2009 Light brown. Fruit nose with some chewy malt. Sweet and fruity, it finishes with a shot of alcohol. Some decent caramel bu not much dark malt. Nothing Baltic about it. Disappointing. Beershine (2677), Hue, Vietnam Feb 21, 2009 Draught, Jupiter fest. Nice dark red, reddish-brown with haze and thick tan head. Nose is really fruity with apples, apple skins, fresh malts. Soft carbonation. Very fruity body. Bananas are here and apples showed up too. Tasty even if not like a Baltic porter. Fruity, quaffable, and fun. daknole (2802), Plantation, Florida, USA Jan 25, 2009 Poured at Jupiter beerfest. Dark brown pour. Medium tan head. Lots of chocolate and some roasted malts. Flavor is pretty damn nice. Chocolate and roasted malts. I enjoyed.
