kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2006 16 oz draft at brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy dark copper colored body under a creamy firm one inch beige head. Pretty amazing retention on the head. Aroma is raw resiny hops, rather bitey and aggressive for an APA. Malt base is bready and has some light caramel. Flavor is rather mild up front, but a nice bitterness level picks things up on the finish. Light bready and doughy malt makes for an all around soft and well rounded flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice creamy texture and very soft pleasant carbonation. Overall, a nice sessionable APA. Still had that organic earthiness in the flavor that I’ve come to expect from organic beers. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 9, 2006 draft at brewpub: aroma is of lots of carmel malt with some hops in the background. Not as matly however as the bitter. dark copper color. flavor was of big malt with the same bittering notes as the ipa. very piney and resinous hops. But extreamly balanced. Pretty decent Nejhleader (924), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 19, 2006 This had a strong hop element for a pale ale, tasted almost like an IPA, has a good body to it, bit of a pine aroma, pretty decent. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Aug 6, 2006 (currently listed at 6.1% ABV) Clear amber body with off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, lemon/grapefruit, orange/floral, some alcohol(!). Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, caramel, some orange/floral. Dry finish. Light-medium body. pbjclimber (150), Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 3, 2006 There is a decent amount of hops and not a very large malt backround which leads to the beer being a little unbalanced and piney. Probiere (992), Iowa, USA Apr 22, 2004 Hops very mellow and herbal. Nice and bitter up front and in the middle the malt gives a fruity undertone like apples and berries. Finish is strangely chalky and dry. A bit unbalanced, I think. The hops are good but the malt bill needs tweaking...?
