marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA Mar 27, 2009 On tap at the brewery. This dark brown ale poured with a decent tan head and a bread aroma. There is a thin palate, but a nice roasted malt background with some coffee flavor. Sven (229), Lancaster, California, USA Oct 23, 2004 Updated: Nov 6, 2004Draught at Sequoia Brewing Company, Fresno
Beautiful black beer served on Nitro creating a creamy tan head. Had some of my wifes at the brewery and brought home a growler. Was very sublime fresh but after slight aging in the fridge (two weeks) became intensely flavorful and aromatic with strong black coffee dominating over a slight cocoa aftertaste and finih. Damn good. flutetokill (515), Fresno, California, USA Nov 16, 2003 Black with red at the edges, thick tan nitro head. Very roasty aroma. Watery feel and flavor, with mild smokey hops and coffee. Mildly dry finish, but a bit slimey for a dry stout. Pretty creamy. loweredsixth (942), Fresno, California, USA Nov 16, 2003 Black with slight ruby edges and a thick light brown nitro head. The aroma was pure coffee. The flavor was very roasted...coffee...slight bitter chocolate. Very dry finish. Flat nitro feel.
