Sequoia Jacob Marley

Draft. Rich amber-brown beer with a small off-white head. Caramel, dark fruit, and alcohol aroma. Caramel, alcohol, brown sugar, and light fruit flavor. Medium-plus body. Alcohol lingers with caramel malt and a light sugariness. Have to be in a mood for noticeable alcohol.

Sampled at "An evening with Pantanap #2", apparently bottle number #135 of 200. Hazy red color with beige head. Aroma is very hoppy citrus, medium malt sweetness and orange, seems very fresh. Pine hops, big dose of caramel malt, hefty bitterness. Hot body with medium to full body. Hot but drinkable.

bottle (#135/200)...shared at an Evening w/ Pantanap #2.....notes are almost unreadable right now so i’ll give it my best shot...pourd an ruby red brown with a light brownish head.....nose of fresh hops and an equally heavy does of malt....flavors of tropical fruits hops and a well balance sweet caramel backbone that play off each other pretty well.....we were pleasantly surprised by this one and the hops provided a nice air of freshness to the night.

Sampled at "An evening with Pantanap #2". 1L flip top bottle. thanks pantanap. As andrew said you were right about the alcohol guess, 10% it is. Pours amber orange with a beige head. Aroma is hoppy and malty, orange citrus pine. Orange, citrus, pine flavors, chocolate, toffee, red fruit. Pine is a little astringent, but really tasty. I definitely needed a hoppy beer right about now, and this did it. Tasty.

sampled at "An evening with Pantanap #2". 1L flip top bottle. thanks kan, and you were right this isn’t only around 10%, it is! pours bright red with white head. nose is hoppy! piney, fruity, lively, caramel malts, flavor is much of the same. med body, alcohol around 10%, Kan? i buy it! this is truly a worthy west coast barleywine!

Tap @ 2004 Toronado Barley Wine Festival. A mahogany color with a tan head. I enjoyed the intense chocolate and deep fruit flavors. An nice surprise from a Fresno brewery.
