Draft at the brewpub - Poured a dark, reddish brown in color with almost no head and very little carbonation. Aroma was faint of roasted malts and slightly sweet. Flavor was weak with roasted malts and, again, slightly sweet. Some hop bitterness at the end. Flavor so weak, it has to be diluted. Just OK... but I only had one.

This is the best beer I have had at the Barrel to date. Full of flavor, I wish it were on tap year around.

Sample at the brewpub. No exception, this, that porters are often the best thing at mediocre brewpubs. Dark reddish-black, light roasted malt nose. Nice smoky-oily flavor, with light chocolate cookie tones towards the end. Good finishing bitterness, full body. Not great, but I might try it again.
