Massive caramel malt blast at first sip. Hops are very muted, in comparison to the malt and pretty low for an IPA, but as an amber/pale ale this is pretty awesome and I personally like the flavor a lot. American hops doen right -- grapefruity, but without all the edgy, raw dry-hop taste. Armoa like orange jello. Very good. yayforbeer (648), Orange Park, Florida, USA

Tasty and excellent IPA. Aroma was mild and hoppy. Golden amber pour with a small white head. Flavor was good with crisp hoppiness, and a good amount of pale malts and just enough sweetness. Some grapefruit and a light bitter finish. A very enjoyable and drinkable brew. ... 7-26-2006... pint on cask this time. Interesting to compare the regular and cask versions. Huge foamy head that lasts. Same nice aroma. Flavor is a little more alcoholic, and a little sharper bite. More complex flavor but I think I enjoy both versions equally. hopscotch (5555), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 3, 2004 Text book amber-colored ale. Crystal clear with a creamy, off-white head. Good retention and lacework.
The nose is malty and fruity with notes of white pepper. The flavor is malty and fruity up front; bitter on the backside. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Lengthy, pleasantly bitter finish. Worth trying. Damn nice! JackfromJax (23), Florida, USA

Pours medium gold to light copper, very clear with a lingering white head. Aroma is very citrusy cascade with lower malt. Inital taste is somewhat bitter with the malt coming in a bit late. The aroma hops finish the beer nicely. The finish is really dry. I was amazed when Eric told me both IPAs had the same OG. This IPA is definitely more hop forward than its predecessor, which was more malt forward. A great beer. rcibera (5), Jacksonville, Florida, USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2003 Lots of alcohol, with that great IPA aftertaste. Very good color; nice and dry, with a nice aroma. jcwattsrugger (5583), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Nice. Dry hopped on hand pump pours a retaining light tan head and hazy amber color. Aroma is mild citrus/pine hops. Taste is mild citrus/pine hops, secondary medium malt. Minimum carbonation. A mellower and mustier version. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
