Commercial Description:
Toll Tender is a copper-colored ale with a pronounced hop aroma due to the time-honored tradition of dry hopping. This American-style India pale ale is a single hop varietal beer that gets it's flavor and aroma from selected Magnum hops.

Big caramel malt aroma with light citrus notes.Dark amber with a diminishing white head. Massive caramel malt blast at first sip. Hops are very muted, in comparison to the malt and pretty low for an IPA, but as an amber/pale ale this is pretty awesome and I personally like the flavor a lot.

Substantial mouthfeel. Intense, dark, honey-amber. American hops doen right -- grapefruity, but without all the edgy, raw dry-hop taste. Armoa like orange jello. Very good.

Pint on tap at the brewpub. This was the best of the night. Tasty and excellent IPA. Aroma was mild and hoppy. Golden amber pour with a small white head. Flavor was good with crisp hoppiness, and a good amount of pale malts and just enough sweetness. Some grapefruit and a light bitter finish. A very enjoyable and drinkable brew. ... 7-26-2006... pint on cask this time. Interesting to compare the regular and cask versions. Huge foamy head that lasts. Same nice aroma. Flavor is a little more alcoholic, and a little sharper bite. More complex flavor but I think I enjoy both versions equally.

Text book amber-colored ale. Crystal clear with a creamy, off-white head. Good retention and lacework. The nose is malty and fruity with notes of white pepper. The flavor is malty and fruity up front; bitter on the backside. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Lengthy, pleasantly bitter finish. Worth trying. Damn nice!

7B new recipe for their IPA is distinctly more American vs. the previous recipe which was closer to an English version. Pours medium gold to light copper, very clear with a lingering white head. Aroma is very citrusy cascade with lower malt. Inital taste is somewhat bitter with the malt coming in a bit late. The aroma hops finish the beer nicely. The finish is really dry. I was amazed when Eric told me both IPAs had the same OG. This IPA is definitely more hop forward than its predecessor, which was more malt forward. A great beer.

Lots of alcohol, with that great IPA aftertaste. Very good color; nice and dry, with a nice aroma.

on tap-pours a light tan head and amber color. Taste has some bite. A nice beginner IPA. Nice. Dry hopped on hand pump pours a retaining light tan head and hazy amber color. Aroma is mild citrus/pine hops. Taste is mild citrus/pine hops, secondary medium malt. Minimum carbonation. A mellower and mustier version.
