Bottle at Pauls Gathering. Lots of caramel, dried fruits and oatmeal with a yeastiness that reminds me of Westmalle. Cereal and toasted malts round it out. Really easy drinking.

Bottle thanks to hopdog: Pours a transparent dark copper mahogany with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel malt with some bready Belgian yeastiness and light fruity esters. Starts fairly full and dark caramely malty sweet with some authentic Belgian yeasty complexity. Nicely balanced, slightly warming and doughy caramely sweet. True to style and enjoyable.

Thanks to CaptainCougar for this one. Black body, little head. Aroma of yeast and fruit, notably apples. Flavor is quite boozy and alcoholic. Dark fruits are evident.

Bottle… O-Town Throwdown Part TresThis beer rocks!… Murky, prune-colored ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Light molasses and overripe apple essences to go along with lots of dark fruit esters, phenols and malts. Sweet, dark fruit and light molasses flavor also offers mild bitterness for a semblance of balance. Full-bodied with moderate carbonation. Coarse, dark fruit finish. Thanks go out to Dickinsonbeer for sharing this world class Quad!

Poured a very dark copper-amber color with no head. Sweet molasses aroma, light pepper, plum. Light carbonation, heavier body. Unique taste for a quad - not overly sweet, yet still provide the dense and spicy malt complexity that gives some balance. Pretty nice.

Pours a very deep amber/light caramel brown with orange hues and a quickly receding(not fully) yellow/cream head. The nose resembles east coast barleywine as much as it does a quadrupel. Moderate sweetness displays notes of dark pitted fruits, caramel malt, vine, white chocolate(waxy). Minor vaniila and yeast are noted, as well as hints of undesirable must. More vanilla and caramel precede heavy yeast and alcohol in the flavor. Mild smoke and pear skins are introduced in an addition of earthy complexity. Sweetness is moderate and vinous but offset nicely by medium bitterness and a touch of astringency that resembles fruity acetity. The finish is grating and burns into the throat with hot alcohol, but is otherwise relatively drinkable. The mouthfeel is medium-full to full bodied, adequately though lightly carbonated and viscous/vinous.
