Pours a dark caramel brown, with a small, swirly, light brown head. Smells of dark fruits, raiosins, molasses, and candy sugar. The flavor was very Belgian-esque. Alot of that dark fruits and alcohol, typical in quads, was all over the palate in this beer. Seemed to be balanced pretty well as far as the flavors go, but the alcohol could have been masked a little better as I got a lot of heat. Still a nice brew.

Cloudy mahogany. Aroma is lite raisins, some maltiness, some alcohol. Taste is candy sweet with just enough tartness to be refreshing. Hint of raisins and apricots. Medium body with mostly clean finish. Lovely beer.

Poured a murky brown color. Aroma is warming alcohol, candi sugar, a hint of bananas. Flavor is a touch oxidized, but this seems to add a touch of complexity. Interesting beer.

750 ml bottle, KSBF 2007. Pours a clear dark garnet body under a foamy beige head slightly less than one finger in height. The nose is slightly sweet and full of dark fruit notes of plum and prune, some candi sugar, raisin, some belgian yeast, and a touch of alcohol. The flavor was just as dense and full as the aroma, lots of plum and raisin with heavy caramel sweetness. A little bit of alcohol, but given how thick and sweet it was, only noticable on the finish. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy with nice restrained carbonation. Overall, this was a pretty darn good Quad, really able to hold its own against the Belgian big boys. One thing about this though, I probably had 4 or 5 samples of this, and the earlier in the bottle I got it the better it was. One particular sample was from the last two inches or so and the sediment dulled things out a bit on that one, much more yeast forward.

KSBF07 Poured a much lighter color then expected. Aroma was sticky all over caramel and dark fruits. Flavor was good but to sticky for me, caramel but not balanced by hops or spices.

Draft at KSBF07. Poured an orangey color, light head, decent retention. The aroma was sticky malts, caramel, and some fruit action. The flavor followed, a little too sticky for my liking, caramel and faint tea bags. Not enough spicing, although the finish was slightly bitter. Mouthfeel sticky, full.

ksbf 07. 750 ml bottle. Pours a deep ambery brown with a nice lasting dark beige head. Aroma is estery and fruity as hell, but not out of control or fusely at all- tons of plum, prune, raisin, some apple, and just tons of thick sweet malts- lots of special B dark crystal, and caramel, toffee, and molasses everywhere with subdued blegina spice and yeast. More fruity esters in the flavor with lots of dark malts sharp caramel,. nuts, hints of chocolate, blegian yeast appears as it warms with the alcohol hidden nicely behind all the malt. Thick and sweet all around. Will probably last 5-10 years with no problem.
