Pours a golden slightly hazy color with a medium head. Aroma is simple, biscuits, yeast, and orange peel. Flavor is similar, clean but orange-citrus like...just hints though. Reminded me of some of the better Kolschs I’ve had. This was actually pretty well done! Super crisp and very refreshing. This needs to have more growler access! porterhouse (1154), Alna, Maine, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Aug 28, 2006 (Draft) Hazy gold with small white head. Smells yeasty, bready. No lacing. Mouthfeel light, fairly prickly and thin. Flavor is fairly fresh and yeasty with some definite citrus characteristic. Lightly bitter finish. Really thought I might be drinking the Monhegan Wheat but checked with bartender who said it’s supposed to be the lager (although the brewer has been known to mislabel kegs). jerc’s review speaks to a sour/tart flavor so maybe this is the lager. Brewer’s website has no description on the beer. Anyway it’s a passable summer quencher. jerc (3888), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 7, 2005 Maine Brewers Festival 2005. Hazy pastel yellow, with a small white head. Thin flavours, mild sour/tart bit over light malty and a similar funky quality to the aroma as the brown but with less beer to offset it. Disappointing.
