chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England May 5, 2008 Cask (handpump) at the Wenlock Arms, April 2008. Amber. Slightly hazy. Some sweetish fruity notes but not much hop presence. OK but not too much going on - a bit bland. Possible the condition wasn’t perfect.
Whelk (124), Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England Apr 30, 2008 Cask at the University Arms. Pours dark gold with a thin white head. Aroma is firm fruity and grassy hops with some light wheatiness. Flavors are hop- and ester-dominated, with grassy, vegetal, and fruity. Bit earthy/cellary as well. Starts off sweet and fruity, dries out for the finish. harrisoni (5121), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 25, 2008 Cask handpull at Wenlock Arms. Gold with thin off white head. Bit of a chemically minerally aroma and flavour. Not a very good bitter. Mes_and_Sim (4320), Highgate, Greater London, England Apr 22, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at the Wenlock. Blimey! This is the first beer I have had from the Wenlock and not had to add it in a very long time. Golden brown colour. Rather raw wheaty malt, very sweet and an earthy yet sugary finish. Nothing special at all. downender (1521), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Apr 20, 2008 Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol, 20/4/08. Amber coloured with a moderate, off-white head. Aroma of grassy and citrus hops with some honeyed sweetness and apricots. Flavour was sweetish with a touch of marmalade before a lovely, hoppy dry finish. Very drinkable.
