Sweet and heavy yet somehow tangy and smooth. Dark amber in appearance with medium sized head that tapers to an outer ring of suds hugging the glass as it warms. Flavors of grain and hops balanced with a banana (?) flavor. Front palate is warm and sweet with a malty middle and mild hoppy finish. Easy to drink, easy to pair with multiple dishes from chicken or pork to a nice beef dish. Would be great with BBQ’d spicy ribs! jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is medium malt-caramel, bready. Taste is medium malt-caramel, bready, spice-nutmeg, nutty, slight smoke, very faint hops. Brewer said it’s an IPA, reminded me more of an alt or Sam Adams Old Fezziwig. Medium body. OK carbonation.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 8, 2007 Bottle. Aroma is particularly grainy. Pours dark amberish. Small off white head quickly dissipates. Interesting flavor with (apparently) ten different kinds of grains. A little thin, but it has a nice lingering flavor. The bottle says "ale", but it may be something else all together.
