Some chocolate icing smell at a low level. Pretty interesting aroma. Not as strong as a real donut. Quickly fading small bubble head. Dry flavor, which kills the chocolate donut impression I was hoping for. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

Not a ton of character. small dark malt. Tootsie Roll? Low carbonation, low viscosity, average mouthfeel. Sweet, very! Tastes like watered down ST Choklat. A bit of fruit. Rather empty. Creamy. A small fruit roast in there, okay. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA

Aroma of sweet chocolate--but fake smelling with a little bit of a tangy smell. The taste is a very tangy chocolate that hits the back of your tongue with a weird flavor. I don’t get any donut or glaze really. Maybe I’m missing something, but this one was a miss for me. yjb (110), Bloomington, Indiana, USA

But you cant ignore this pretty perfumed bombshell. Creamy glaze from a bit of diacetyl is filling my mouth OK. The flavor is pretty nice, but somethings a bit off... plastic? mild emptiness? i dont know... still super cool beer, but something prevents true greatness. thanks kmweaver ¾ (5011), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Sugary glazed chocolate and donuts in the nose, as advertised! Flavor is midly sweet with a bit of a perfumy sweet sugar note and lighter notes of toffee and chocolate. Tastes almost like a glaze at times but it’s a moderate sugariness and not simply a result of overuse of the malt. I have to say the flavor and finish are a bit disappointing, but it’s still a delectable dessert beer and I’ve never anything quite like it. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA

Nearly black colour with a bit of dark head. Aroma is chocolaty and yeasty. The flavour is truly unique. Lots of chocolate flavour with a donut like finish. Reminds me of an ld fashioned chocolate cake donut with some glaze. Really unique! wickedpete (629), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2008 Updated: Jan 6, 2008Thanks to Michelle for this. This is one of the most unique beers I’ve ever tasted. The body is almost black. The aroma is chocolaty sweet and yeasty, like bread just before putting it in the oven., and also somewhat liquer-ish The flavor is buttery and of course chocolate, which makes this very similar to a chocolate dessert, or in the case of this one, a donut. Pretty amazing stuff. jlthiering (47), Viginia Beach, Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2008 Smells much like unbaked yeast dough, appears like many other dark beers. The flavor is in between a buttery bucket of movie theatre popcorn and a donut. Very different when compared to any other beer that I have tried.
